Update by user Aug 16, 2013
UPDATE: we did receive our furniture on April 30th after a few more broken promises of delivery. Brittany did give us a discount for our troubles which was appreciated.
Overall, products were nice - they were sturdy and constructed well. But if you take a close look there were some areas that were not sanded well and there were stain drips/unevenness.
From far away or a quick glance - you wouldn't notice. For the price though especially with the discount, we felt that the pieces were good value.

Their contact is below, and advertise on Kijiji as well as other classifieds -- BEWARE
Company: Wood for Life
Owner: Brittany Boyd
We found out after that they have a FAIL rating on the Better Business Bureau (see below)
The owner, Brittany Boyd, took a deposit for custom furniture and promised delivery of our furniture to an antique market in Toronto, ON on March 10, 2013. After broken promises of delivery on March 10th, March 24th, April 7th and April 9th, we still don't have the furniture. I called and they confirmed their attendance 2 days prior to March 24th - but they stood us up. They also promised a refund on multiple occasions since March 24th, but have yet to receive one.
We did or research and the company there were no red flags. So our experience is as follows:
1) they took our money and failed to deliver the custom furniture as promised
2) they were full of broken promises of delivery (promised delivery on 4 dates, but never delivered), pictures (despite agreeing to send us pictures of our "supposedly" completed furniture on 3 separate occasions) and a refund (promised on 3 occasions)
3) they are disrespectful - they never had the courtesy inform us that they cancelled delivery. We always had to follow up multiple times to confirm delivery. And even when we confirmed 2 days prior, we were stood you up. And even then, we had to follow-up to find out where they were.
After this incident we found out that they received a grade of "F" for Fail from the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Unfortunately for us, we discovered this after we already paid our deposit because the information wasn't readily searchable via the google search engine. We had to go to the bbb site to look them up.
We are in the process of filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Branch at the Ministry of Consumer Services (who also have a consumer beware list of companies that have had complaints against them) as well as the BBB, and the anti-fraud center of Canada.
